Thanks for all of your sweet comments last week. Sometimes the ebb and flow of the day to day tends to catch up with me – as I’m sure we can all relate.

This weekend was filled with an abundance of elbow grease, manual labor and mess as we used this weekend as our one major weekend to pack up before we move so we could take full advantage of the next as a holiday to spend as much time as possible with friends and family.

We snuck out early one morning to grab some sustenance before our long day and found this spot that felt very appropriate. Light in the front, black in the back – much like the sweater I had on. Which I must say has become a new favorite, it’s so sleek and looks much more luxe than it’s pocket-friendly price point.

Paired with a faux fur scarf (you know I love a good snood-like winter weather accessory) and a pop of cobalt, I was cozy and comfy without having to resort to going outside in my pj’s.

What are some of those pieces in your closet that you always find yourself reaching for?

Oh, and because we can’t ever take this sport too seriously, here’s an outtake for ya. My signature “CHEEEEESE” pose.

Make Like A Tree and Leave

I live for fall weekends. I love when they’re rainy (as long as I don’t have to leave the house) and I fall in love with the city and Hoboken when they are brilliantly sunny, just as this past Sunday morning was.

The skies were dotted with puffy white clouds, the breeze was cool and the sun warmed you JUST enough. So Jon and I decided to fill the day with all sorts of perfect fall things. A festival full of yummy food and local wares, a photo shoot with the perfect blue sky and green tree backdrop followed by a cozy nap just as the rain started to fall.

One of my very favorite parts about Hoboken is our waterfront. Nearly 14 blocks of New York City views, complete with paved biking, running and walking paths, grassy knolls to lounge around on and plenty of benches to stop and enjoy.

Jon and I decided to cruise down the promenade on our way to a yummy dinner in the city with some friends, stopping to take in the view and the welcome cool breeze. I haven’t found myself reaching for pants in quite some time, but the conditions were perfect to break out these cherry red city pants and take them for a stroll.

UPDATE: We have a winner, Erin I’ll be emailing you soon!

Jon and I headed out for a stroll Sunday afternoon to enjoy the Hoboken Arts + Music Festival. As in, let’s go eat our way down Washington Street. Falafel, sausage & pepper heros, chicken gyros, red velvet cupcakes, oh my! (I only partook in one of the above, the rest being consumed by my husband with the ridiculous metabolism.)

As we were taking a breather down by the river (no, not in a van) Jon made a comment about the softness + stretch in my new favorite pair of wide leg denim from Hudson jeans. He even went so far to compare them to the Pajama Jean! Not quite dear! But they really are one of the most versatile pairs of denim in my closet. I would go as far as to say you could wear these on an overnight flight and be perfectly comfortable. They really are that soft, with a great give in all the right places without being all stretched out in the knee.

Paired with a breezy ditzy floral print top and a five year old clutch I only took the tags off of last week, I was desperately wishing I had a deep brown or rich navy floppy brim hat for a head to toe 70′s feel.
