a year in review

2012. It seems like just yesterday that we were trudging through piles of snow on our way to our friend's apartment to celebrate the new year of 2011. And now we find ourselves among 50 degree temps and oh how things have changed.

Thought it might be fun to take a little look back through court + hudson over the past year. Won't you join me?

January was full of snow. Jon and I drove 16 hours from Indiana after the East Coast saw record snowfall and stranded many after the Christmas holiday. We saw another two feet a month later. We also acquired a GIANT antique armoire which I convinced my husband we should paint fuchsia. Best. Decision. Ever.

Ahh March, the start of spring. Zara saw their best season ever, outfitting fashion bloggers across the globe in bright colors. I discovered my LOOOVE for color and spent hours concocting ways to combine all of my favorites into one obnoxiously bright outfit.

May: the month of maxi skirts. It's very possible I wore one 20 days out of the month. And so I learned how to turn a dress into a skirt. GENIUS. June = more color. Life is forever changed. Do you see me looking like a box of crayola crayons? It's okay, let's embrace it.

Intense summer heat means less is more. And the introduction of this green belt. Who knew I liked it THAT much? OH yes, and lots of blogger brunches with lots of new (and old) blogger friends.

September was a super exciting month for me, as I was named Coach's blogger of the month. Outfit shoots in wool capes and chunky boots amidst 90 degree temps makes long shots necessary. No closeups to inquire. We quickly moved from 90 degrees to a chilly cold snap in October. Layers, people. A fashion blogger's dream.

The last two months of the year proved to be the most trying. A new job, a new home. Holiday stress and lots of festivities. It's only the second day into the new year and I know it was all worth it. To 2011 -  you were amazing, stressful, exhilarating, horrible, unpredictable and inspirational all in one. I'm happy you happened, but here's to 2012 - a year of opportunity!
