cold spell

It finally happened. NYC is experiencing an actual winter and everyone is already complaining. It will be gone tomorrow with temperatures back into the low 50's by the end of the week, but it most certainly is too cold to go outside to snap any sort of outfit. Unless of course you want to see what one looks like when bundled up against 5 degrees?

I got this vest at Marshall's when I was visiting my parents and on the hunt for a few pieces for the apartment. Suburban TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Home Goods stores always have the BEST decor finds! But alas, all I ended up with on this particular trip was a vest sized 1X. Am I the only one that loves finding oversized pieces to belt, twist, tie and figure out ways of making fit on a smaller frame?

But the faux shearling is incredibly soft and cozy - a perfect defense against the brief burst of winter we'll have to deal with for another day.
