all dressed up and nowhere to go

Sometimes I'll put on an outfit, or in this case a getup as my husband would call it, and find myself reverting back to the days when shyness got the better of me. Do I really want to teeter through cobblestone street on platforms with my hair wrapped up in a scarf sporting a poofy dress - all for a photo? 

On this summer day the answer was no. I had no where in particular to go, I was perusing my closet and came across this little number that hasn't been worn for over a year and a half. I plop my dirty hair on top of my head (because who washes their hair on the weekends anyway?) and some statement jewelry and head out to find the husband. 

He sort of smirks and asks where I'm going in my getup. Feeling silly, I scratch my initial location and decide the roof is a safer bet. Of course, nothing like people working on the roof next to you staring and gawking while your husband takes pictures of you prancing around a roof to make you feel just a tad ridiculous. 

Ironic thing is, when I look at these pictures, they don't scream "getup" to me at all. Funny how reality doesn't always translate how you perceive something in your head!
