"fall"ing
fall in nyc is my absolute favorite time of the year. even when it's raining. i don't know what it is exactly, but i find the pace of the city seems to slow down and the people roaming the streets to be a bit more friendly.
on this particular fall afternoon, jon and i found ourselves on the upper west side brunching at cafe soleil and strolling through the quad at columbia university. if you've never visited columbia, it is quite a juxtaposition to the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle surrounding it. for one thing, there's a huge lawn right in the middle of the campus, on which i was extremely tempted to roll from one side to another. luckily for jon, and my ego, they were treating the grass.
as the weather turns cooler, i find myself lacking a serious fall/winter wardrobe. i think i may have gone a little donation happy last year with my wooly sweaters and cozy pullovers because, well, i have none. this sweater is one of my first purchases for my new wardrobe and i could not be more thrilled with it. i love me a navajo print and the color is going to pop amidst the bleaker winter months. paired with a comfy pair of wool shorts and printed tights, i certainly didn't fit in amongst the crowd at columbia. i don't think they would have appreciated my frolicking amongst their grass much either.
