high-low: all that glitters

ah yes, so here we are...ready to welcome the year of 2010! 2009 has definitely had its way ups and its way downs, but we should only look forward towards the good things to come. a celebration is definitely in need and while glittery, glam dresses may not be the outfit of choice for most this evening, it's still fun to relish in what could be! so here are a few showstoppers for all price points. and lets be honest, when it comes to sequins, how often are you really going to wear them?

Here's to an awesome 2010 and happy new year to all of you!

letting it go

i've struggled to get this blog off the ground and that makes me a little sad. i want to blog, but do you ever feel that sometimes when you're searching for inspiration or fantastic finds that you end up feeling less inspired and lacking further creativity? i feel that so many get sucked into this blogging vacuum where people are constantly competing to have the greatest content. i know i find myself guilty of it as well, until i realized that this blog is something to be enjoyed. since for me, this blog is not my business.

so i guess all of this babble is to say, here's to 2010 and to allowing myself to just let it go!

it really shouldn't be this hard...

to post everyday. but i think i'm over inspired, i have a million browser windows open to things i'm loving, and i can't seem to put them up here. so what if a week goes by with no posts? well i think that's lame...for my blog. since it exists of all of 10 posts right now! and i can't promise it's going to get better, because the holidays are here and all i want to do is go ice skating, stare at my christmas tree, and bake cookies - as long as i can give them away so i don't inhale every last one.

BUT isn't this sofa the coolest? it kind of reminds me of... mm, better yet, why don't you tell me what it reminds you of?

feeling stripey

i know removable wall decals are nothing new, but this dining room featured in today's new york times home section is really striking. i love the simple yet bold statement the decals create for the space. these stripes are from walls need love. maybe i should give my walls some love?

merry christmas to me..

jcrew's flannel ruffle cascade jacket... it's just so festive, how can you resist?

oh what a tree!

we put up our tree last night, our first tree as a married couple! while we've lived together for three years now, we've never had a tree. maybe because we were lazy, or because we always spend the holidays elsewhere, or maybe because we live in a fourth floor walkup!

regardless, we have a tree - and to quote buddy the elf, "it glooorious!" but i also wouldn't have minded this delightful little tree that tif over at dottie angel crafted for her home. our tree is very modern (seems my husband is a bit of an ornament snob) but i prefer that slightly vintage, handmade feeling. and i love the combinations of cream and the blues, golds, and reds.

welcome december!
